Abstract

This study is significant in that it reveals the propaganda techniques employed by political powers in modern societies, where coercion and violence-based governance have been replaced by consent-based systems, to alter or transform individuals' mental frameworks and internal codes through the formation of social groups, and it also uncovers the changes and transformations these techniques create in individuals' political identities. The aim of this study is to determine whether the propaganda techniques employed by the youth branches, established by political powers to instill their political culture in society, lead to changes or transformations in individuals' political identities. In the study, a sample group of eight members was selected, consisting of two members from the youth branches of the Justice and Development Party, the Republican People's Party, the Nationalist Movement Party, and the Good Party in the province of Manisa. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the selected sample group, and the findings were analyzed using descriptive analysis. Ultimately, the study concludes that the propaganda techniques employed by the political communities, established by political powers to instill their political culture in society, lead to changes or transformations in individuals' political identities.
