The Rise of Spiritualism and Human Health

Abstract

Spiritualism, which has become popular today, is widely criticized for its inherently individualistic and market-oriented approaches that have evolved in the present day. The claim that these approaches offer an alternative to being healthy and healing and the potential dangers of this are too important to ignore. Today, the individual-oriented understanding of health shapes individual healing and healthy living searches through spiritual practices. How spiritual approaches have transformed into a consumer culture under the influence of neoliberal ideology is also a subject of debate. This article examines the historical development of the concept of spiritualism and the increasing popularity of these approaches in modern society, as well as the reasons and consequences of this.
