Abstract

The relationship between art and politics inevitably finds its place in art theories, art history and reality. The ideological side of art and the opposition of artists with their works and its impact on societies have also been observed throughout history. In addition to the meaning, emotional impact and aesthetic value of art, works in various branches of art form an axis of resistance against the government, other dominant powers and injustices. While art achieves this with its own methods, it derives its power from its ability to influence large masses. This effect has an important role in social changes. Therefore, the fact that art is a political phenomenon is an indication that it is closely linked to its social context and power relations within this context.
