Abstract

This study is a bibliometric analysis of health-related master's and doctoral dissertations in the field of social sciences published in Turkey in 2024. Health is not only a biological condition, but also a multifaceted phenomenon that should be addressed in terms of sociological, cultural, economic and legal dimensions and is related to many social issues. In recent years, interest in health issues in social sciences has increased. This increase in interest reflects the interdisciplinary nature of health. As a result of the screening, 1753 master's and 489 doctoral dissertations were reached. After removing duplicate and irrelevant theses, the remaining number of theses was 1243. Of the theses evaluated, 284 (22.8%) were doctoral theses, and 959 (77.2%) were master's theses. 33.5% of the theses were conducted in universities in Istanbul (n=416), 12.6% in Ankara (n=156) and 5.3% in Izmir (n=66). It was observed that the theses were mostly published under the topics of health management, psychology, and management of health institutions.
