Abstract

In the 17th issue of SoSa, we are pleased to mark our fifth year with concrete indicators reflecting the journal’s growing visibility and academic circulation. Since the transition to online accessibility beginning with the final two issues of 2024, our article views have increased substantially; as of March 2026, articles published in 2024 and 2025 have also begun to receive citations in both national journals and publications indexed in Web of Science. At the same time, the rejection of our TR Dizin applications for 2024 and 2025 has clearly revealed the areas that need to be developed in our journal's institutionalization and adaptation to national standards. In this issue, we also share current data on our editorial processes: in 2025, the median time to first editorial decision was 8 days, the average time from submission to acceptance was 23 days, and the average time from submission to publication was 40 days. We are also honored to feature the 2025 Turkish Medical Association (TTB) Nusret Fişek Public Health Service Award, presented to Professors Ayşe Akın and Şerife Reyhan Uçku. The visual identity of this issue, inspired by Clementine Hunter, was developed by Salih Keskin, and the cover once again features a photograph by Nuray Özgülnar.
