Öz

Fotoses, katılımcıların fotoğraflar aracılığıyla yaşamlarını belgelemesine, eleştirel diyalog geliştirmesine ve toplumsal değişim için politika yapıcılara ulaşmasına olanak tanıyan katılımcı odaklı bir eylem araştırması desenidir. Bu çalışmada fotosesin kuramsal temelleri, eleştirel ve fenomenolojik yaklaşımları, uygulama aşamaları, etik ilkeleri ve dört aşamalı veri analizi stratejisi (araştırmacı yorumu, katılımcı yorumu, çapraz karşılaştırma, kuramsallaştırma) ele alınmıştır. Uluslararası ve ulusal fotoses çalışmalarından örnekler sunulmuş, özellikle sivil toplum kuruluşları tarafından yürütülen çalışmalarda somut politika çıktılarının daha belirgin olduğu gözlenmiştir. Fotoses, okuma yazma bilmeyenler, dil engeli olan göçmenler ve geleneksel yöntemlerle ulaşılması zor gruplar için güçlü bir araçtır ve görsel anlatının yaygınlaştığı günümüzde önemi giderek artacaktır.
